From the time that I was five years old I only ever wanted to colour, draw and paint.  It has always been, and remains to be my favorite thing to do.

As a young woman I studied theatre and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre for set and costuming design.  Working for many years as a scenic artist gave me the confidence and flare for expressing with bold colour and sweeping strokes of the brush.   Inspiration for my painting comes from the other favorites in my life… people, travel, gardening, music, and most of all my children.

There is something very wonderful about life, something freeing about expressing oneself through observation.  Life and nature continue to add and shed layers just as we do on the canvas.
